Dear reader,
We have just sent an open letter to to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in order to insist that FCA finally draws their attention to the criminal schemes of Monese and Starling Bank.
Please see the full version of this letter here (you can also download it on your device):
We advise you to be extra careful with Monese and Starling Bank: do NOT hold any substantial amounts of money in the account of these banks, as you account can be restricted any moment and the money will be stolen for a long-long time.
Here you see an extract from the Terms and Conditions of Starling Bank that most people don’t read. As you can clearly see and read: Starling Bank reserves the rights to keep accounts blocked as long as they wish, and in some cases the user money is sent to some mysterious charities:

Next, an extract from the Terms and Conditions of Monese (section 2.42 Suspension or closure of your Monese account). In this section there is NOTHING said about the suspensions and processes/timeframes related to suspensions, instead Monese cleverly stick to account closures only:

This open letter has been also sent to the main UK newspapers, though we don’t believe any of them wish to admit that UK government ignores 2 regulated online banks systematically stealing user money in large scale.
Also, the copy has been sent to the HM Treasury, as FCA directly reports to them
Please share this information that your relatives and friends don’t get robbed by Starling Bank or Monese.
Best wishes,
TIG team
This has happened to me today. I just complained to the FCA and said this:
I received my pay from my employer today at 5.45pm. I have not been paid for two months due to ill health, so was counting down the minutes until this money was received. They then restrict my account for no reason without informing me until 6:40pm (via email, copy attached). I responded immediately to said email with a copy of my payslip and confirmation that the funds were from my employer. I have called and ‘live chatted’ them numerous times, just to be told that they cannot get through to the team that deal with restrictions and that they will get back to me “as soon as possible” and are unable to provide me with any meaningful timelines. It is now 10:45pm and still nothing. After research, their facebook page is flooded with reviews from disgruntled customers saying the exact same thing has happened to them and a company are taking them to court on behalf of many users for the same reason! Hi There,
Many thanks for your endeavours to advocate and bring attention to the injustices carried out by Monese and Starling Bank.
Unfortunately, I am also a victim of Monese – on 31st August 2022 they abruptly closed my account with a balance of over £2K and despite telephone calls, email correspondence to the compliance and complaints team there has been no communication since 9th September.
Hello On September 9, monese suspended my bank account ID M10771907 where I had 3228 pounds, they didn’t want to tell me the reason, so I was left without my only source of existence, the monese account was my only bank account! I wrote a lot of emails to monese support but without any answer, I was disappointed and I am at the height of despair! I need money urgently to pay my rent and installments to the bank! please help me get my money back!
